Default Intex Easy Set 18x48 how to get started with chlorine tablets?

    Hi,
I was browsing your forum and came across your topic about the 7 day getting started plan for Intex pools. We are in the process of filling our pool now, and I added the bleach according to directions, but the more I read the more confused I'm getting. Do I follow the directions that you've laid out until the pool is full, then check the ph levels? Once I check the ph levels, how do I know how much chlorine to add? Is that something I need to check everyday?

Sorry to sound like such a noob, this is our first pool and I'm not really sure what to do. I just know I dont' want nasty green water this summer and want to keep it clean.

I'm not sure what you're confused about -- I think the best advice I can offer is to re-read the instructions (here: http://www.poolforum.com/pf2/showthread.php?17055 ), especially the 2 sections entitled "Intex-type Pool 7 Day Start-up Plan" & "Intex Pool Care Plan"

The first section tells you what to do WHILE you are filling; the second section tells you what to do AFTER you are full.

To some degree, the whole point of that process is to offer a "Just do it -- you don't have to understand why" method, and let you gradually understand the 'how' and 'why' over time.

I can tell you that you will 'break' the process if you skip or leave out any bits. If you are very lucky, it may not matter too much on your particular pool, but then again, it may results in the dreaded "GREEN GOO" sooner, rather than later (or never).
