hello , I am a general contractor building my own pool, and I am getting mixed information on my pool equipment placment. from what I can determine is that the heater should not be within 4' of a window. One guy is telling me its 10' from a window? I have not found anything supporting the 10' statement.
second what if the window is a fixed pane window does that change the formula?

Two answers here:
1. Follow code (BigDave's answer).
2. Avoid the problem, the code was intending to prevent -- heater exhaust entering the house. A permanently closed window is functionally the same as a wall, with respect to the function of preventing heater exhaust from entering.
