    Default Softened water

A friend asked if starting up her above ground pool with softened water would result in cloudy water. If so, is Calcium Carbonate added as a water "hardener" and if so, to what concentration?

    Thank you,
    Mike

    Default Re: Softened water

As a matter of long standing policy, we don't do 3rd party discussions. The explanation is long and gory, and doesn't seem to 'satisfy' so I won't bother.

But have your friend register and post.

    However, briefly:
+ Soft water doesn't cause cloudy water.
+ I'm not sure if you realize what "calcium carbonate" really is . . . but you shouldn't add it to your pool.
+ Ergo, the correct dose is ZERO.
