    Cool Chlorinated Rubber

We just resurfaced our gunite pool with Clorinated Rubber. The instructions say to wait 5-7 days before refilling but our painter says we don't have to wait that long. We have been having 100+ temps. Do we really have to wait the full 7 days? Luckily, (for us-not the farmers) we are in drought conditions so are not worried about the pool "floating".

If it says 5 - 7 days, and you have been having 100 degree days, I'm pretty sure 5 days would be fine.

But otherwise let me answer your question this way.

In my local area, I have epoxy coated (painted) more than 10 large (120,000+ gallons) pools, always successfully. A lot of other contractors have done a few pools. My jobs have always been successful -- not problem free, but successful. Most of the other jobs have not, and when you bring up the topic of epoxy in the local wholesalers, many of the contractors will start cussing.

One more bit of data: I have always followed the instructions; most of them did not.
