I just wanted to relay my current experience. After switching to the BB method last year and following all of the advice that I've received - this was my pool store experience today :

Knew I was a bit low on calcium and chlorine. Decided to check my test kit numbers by comparing them to the pool store's - since I hadn't taken any water to be tested there since early last summer. Not only did my numbers agree with theirs, but they were right on the mark! Bought the calcium that I needed (as a courtesy) and left (to go buy bleach at the local superstore).

I've saved a FORTUNE by swapping to BBB, my test kit is right on, and my water is sparkling.
Best of all, I understand how all of my chems, plumbing, and hardware work.
I owe it all to this forum. My membership is worth every penny!
