    Default Problems vacuuming pool

    I have an 18' round above ground pool. It's green right now but that's because we went camping and the person who was supposed to monitor it forgot... Anyway.....

    I vacuum to the skimmer with a short pool and vac hose. It starts off well, but after 30 seconds or so the suction stops.... Then I have to unhook the hose to get the pump to start circulating again.

    Am I doing something wrong?

    How long has it been since you backwashed your filter? Try that.
