    Salt water doesn't necessarily cause scale. In order to get rid of it, you need to know what it is, first, and why it's appearing. Do all these things:

    #1 - Order a K2006 (or 2006C => 3x the # of tests for 35% more $). (Amazon order link in my signature)
    #2 - Post the best test results you have now, for BOTH your pool AND your tap water.
    #3 - Tell us what chemicals you've been using, what sort of surface your pool has, and how many gallons it holds.
    #4 - If possible, scrape up a bit of scale -- it doesn't have to be much -- and put it in a COVERED (Saran is fine) glass of vinegar. Tell us what happens immediately, and after 8 hours.

    EDIT by Watermom: We have learned this morning that the Amato Industries website is down. Ben talked with them this morning (Fri. July 8) and they do have kits available but you'll have to order by phone for now until the website is back up. Their phone number is 800-992-6286.
