If you TRULY do not understand the chemistry of salt-water generation, then our resident experts on it, like Waterbear can answer your questions. If you don't understand the answer because it's not clear or you cannot follow it, it's OK to ask follow-up questions.

But take it as a given that none of us holds our positions on pool care out of anything other than logic and experience. It's not "group-think". We challenge each others premises all the time. Consensus comes out of that.

Also, remember we are here to help people. Ben takes in just enough money from referrals to maintain and offset the costs of the forum.
