    I can't help you much with trouble shooting the unit, except to say, check the online manual that is probably available.

    But . . . I can tell you that you can (and should) pretend you have a non-SWCG pool, and treat your pool with bleach in the mean time. Add 1 gallon of plain 6% household bleach per 10,000 gallons of pool water each evening, unless the chlorine shows too high.

    If you post test results and pool gallons, I can give you more specific info. If you don't have a K2006 or equiv (DPD-FAS chlorine test kit) go purchase a cheap OTO/phenol red kit and use that rather than "guess strips". You'll need to take your water in so you can get a CYA reading --- dealer-read guess strips are somewhat better than consumer-eyeballed strips, though still not very accurate. (Get a K2006!)
