What type of winter cover should i buy?

There are so many choices? which would you recommend? whats a simple winter closing kit solution? does the winterpill work?

Give some specifics about your pool, climate, location, etc. and someone will better be able to advise you about a cover.

I have no idea what a winterpill is.

Take a look at the closing 'stickies' at the top of the fall preparation section of the forum. It may answer some of your questions about procedures for closing a pool for the winter.
