It is normal to lose some chlorine during the day. That means the chlorine is doing its job sanitizing your water. With a CYA of 45-50, you need to be adding enough chlorine in the evening to get back to 6ppm. What are you using for your source of chlorine?

6% generic bleach - gone through 11 gallons since last Thursday just to keep FC level around 6 when I test in morning after adding in the evening. Pool is still clear, but seems like I am having to add to often.

FC goes up pretty good during the night, but drops anywhere between 3-5 ppm during day. I have added 11 gal of bleach since last Thursday just to keep FC around 6. Base on what I have read in the forum, sounds excessive. Should I have to add 2 gal per day to keep it at that level? Thanks for the help.
