    Default Using solar

I recently moved to a home with a pool - I've never had one before and am learning a ton.

My question: what's the best way to run the solar for maximum heating. Is it best to run the solar constantly throughout the afternoon or better to let it sit, heat up and "dump" in periodically into the pool?

I live in northern California, in the valley where it gets hot.

    Thanks! e

You want to let it run constantly. You'll gain a lot of heat with a solar heater. Combine it with a solar blanket to keep from losing heat overnight that you have gained during the day.

Welcome to the Pool Forum, by the way!
