I can't answer your question, but there are others on this forum who can, so hopefully they'll be by shortly with information for you. Does the manual specify why that filter isn't recommended? I find it a little strange, because people use sand filters with SWCG systems all the time with good results.....anyway, just wanted to stop in and welcome you to the forum!
