    Default Yellow filmy pool water

I had just bought a new house that came with an inground vinyl pool. I have been trying to get all of the levels up to where they should be, and this morning, I found that my PH and alkalinity was really low and everything else was OK. I added about 6 cups of Soda Ash to the pool and also used Alkalinity up to bring that up. A couple of hours later, the pool water turned yellow and filmy and was wondering how I might fix this.

I will be going to the pool store possibly tonight to get the water tested, but wanted any ideas to get the water clear again.

    Thanks.

    Mike

To be able to help, we'll need testing numbers - preferably from testing you do yourself. (Consider buying Ben's test kit at the sister site to this forum www.poolsolutions.com website that most of us use. It will allow you to test your own water reliably and not have to depend on pool stores which often give bogus readings.)
