Sand in Pool

I need some help. Yesterday I changed the sand in my Hayward sand filter and followed all the instructions from youtube and now there is sand in the pool. The only thing I did backwards is that I put the sand back in the filter before the water. I checked and make sure nothing was broken before I added anything. I hope someone can help me.

How much sand? Is it still coming out when your pump is running? If not, then just vacuum it up.

If you are lucky, you just spilled some sand in the wrong place. If that's the problem, you shouldn't have sand CONTINUING to enter the pool.

If you are not so lucky -- and sand is continuing to enter the pool -- something went wrong during re-assembly. Two common problems are
(1) Failing to re-assemble the air bleed line correctly
(2) Cracking a lateral.

If you post exact make / model of your filter, someone may be able to give more specific advice.
