    Default New User with ozonator

Hello- New user here to research all the ins and outs of pool ownership. I have completed the Google questionnaire link on a prior sticky. Would also like access to the search bar so I can continue reading. I am in Oklahoma and have just completed a free form 15K gallon pool with an ozonator. I would like to learn more about the equipment I have and how I should be operating it.

    1. Turn off the ozonator. They use up chlorine (ozone and chlorine react destructively with each other) and most ozonators introduce enough air into the water to constantly strip alkalinity OR push the pH high.

    2. You didn't list the MODEL of your cartridge filter or pump, so there's nothing to say there, except to caution you to (a) keep the cartridge clean and (b) not get the pressure go too high, which collapses the pleats. See http://pool9.net/cart-clean/
