New to Pools and trying to figure this all out

Hi everyone,

I am just getting started with our first pool and looking for any info possible to make sure we do it all right. Thanks in advance for any help and for answering questions that may seem silly.

First thing we are trying to figure out is the best base, should we remove the sod? Use sand or ground limestone and should we put pads undrr the legs?
We purchased a 14x42 Sunscape Proseries....mixed emotions as I can find both good and bad comments about this pool.
