Hayward Chlorine Feeder lid stuck

We realize that it is probably the o-ring that is jamming it. Is there any easy way to unstick it...already tried silicone lubricant, making a jig, hot water. Out looking for a rubber strap thingy now.... Thanks!

I think you've got the right idea on the "strap thingy" (aka strap wrench ); Amazon has them:
