I hired ######### to do my pool and it's been a complete nightmare!! We are a year and a half behind schedule and there's still plenty of work left to do. The latest issue were having is that the plaster is all blotchy looking. We are being told it needs to "cure" however it's been curing for over a week now. The dirtiness look comes from tons of rocks being grouped together in some spots, and very little to no rocks in other spots exposing the blue smooth plaster.

Are there rocks under the blue plaster? If they acid wash it will that expose more of the rocks to make it look evenly distributed?

I'm in dire need of an expert opinion, any help would be much appreciated!!! Please let me know your thoughts on the below pics as they keep telling me this is normal. I fail to see how something looking so terrible can be normal!

1. We probably don't have the sort of expertise you're looking for; most posters here are pool owners, not pool builders. PoolSpaForum.com probably has the highest concentration of actual builders participating.

2. Acid washing is destructive cleaning; that's how it works. What it will expose depends entirely on what's underneath.

3. However, my non-expert opinion (I've been in large commercial pool service for 25 years, not pool building) is that at least in part your issue may be that you are expecting a complete pool to look like a carefully selected sample. Ideally, it would. In practice, that's sort like expecting the Big Mac you are served to look just as bright and un-squashed as the one in the ad.
