Default Why Chlorine Is more Effective

Chlorine kills most pathogens very fast at very low levels of active chlorine (hypochlorous acid) and it is also an oxidizer so can get relieve of nitrogenous bather misuse. The cause chlorine is so effectual is that the molecule looks a lot like water. See hypochlorous acid:

    lets see with water

Both molecules are polar, small, and impartial in charge. Once inside microorganisms, algae, or other cell the chlorine atom attached to hypochlorous acid can react with nitrogenous chemicals counting some amino acids, proteins, and DNA and in some cases oxidizes or partly oxidizes these chemicals. This disrupts chemical processes in the cell preventing the cell from reproducing.

Leaving this up briefly, as an example of a spammer's typical 'authentication' post. Congrats to CarlD for 'sniffing' this one out on first glance.
