    No, not yet. Pool store tested the water. They told me no algae, so the problem was probably with metals, but they did not test for metals.

    I have never heard of a "test" for algae before - so I cannot comment on it.

    You need to get your iron level and copper level tested and then post the results - don't let them tell you that it's "normal"

    If you have NO metals in your pool-my concern would be that your chlorine level is low. You should shock your pool up to 15-20ppm of chlorine and hold it there until the pool clears. Test your water 3x a day (this is where having a test kit is a good idea) and bring the chlorine level up each time with BLEACH. I don't recommend using your SWG to shock your pool.

    Once the pool is clear - let the chlorine level drop NO LOWER than 3ppm-6ppm.

    Thanks for the advice. I did have metals present and started with metal out.
    It seems to be clearing.

    Curious, why don't you like using the SWG to shock the pool?
