    I would leave it alone. In a vinyl pool, you can really get away with alk as high as 200 or so (obviously it's no ideal, but....). 150 is not that bad.

    Yes, I agree. It ain't broke, don't fix it.

    If you had a heater or SWG you'd be close to the limit, but lowering your pH to 7.3 or 7.4 should fix that anyway. I think 7.8 is a little too high and like it a little lower.
