25k gallon ig pool (no liner)

I am about to add about 6 gallons of bleach to shock the pool. I was wondering how often I need to add bleach.....is it every day or every other day etc....

Or do I really have to test like every day to see how much chlorine I need?

Are any of you on a routine of like 1 bottle every 2-3 days etc? Its still too early to swim here in Maryland.....so I doubt the chlorine should be used up to quickly.
